A tree is judged by its fruits, and in the world of business, leadership is measured by impact.

In a move that signals fresh energy and ambition, Uganda’s Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, has officially welcomed Airtel Uganda’s new Managing Director, Mr. Soumendra Sahu, urging him to build on the telecom giant’s contributions to Uganda’s digital and economic transformation.

During their meeting on January15, Dr. Baryomunsi emphasized Airtel Uganda’s pivotal role in expanding connectivity, financial inclusion, and digital innovation.

He challenged Mr. Sahu to strengthen the company’s investment in key areas such as internet affordability, customer experience, and rural network expansion, ensuring that every Ugandan benefits from the digital revolution.

Airtel Uganda, as the country’s leading mobile operator, has long been a driving force in bridging the communication gap and boosting economic growth through mobile money services, digital solutions, and affordable telecom services.

Now, with a new leader at the helm, expectations are high for even greater strides in technology, infrastructure, and corporate social responsibility.

Mr. Sahu expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and reaffirmed Airtel Uganda’s commitment to innovation, improved services, and national development.

As the telecom sector continues to evolve, his leadership is expected to steer Airtel towards greater efficiency and impact in Uganda’s socio-economic landscape.

With the winds of change blowing at Airtel Uganda, all eyes are on how Mr. Sahu will shape the company’s future and contribute to a digitally empowered nation. [A good beginning makes a good ending], and his journey has just begun.
