Maria Goertz came from the United States to Uganda on a clandestine mission that majority of Ugandans have not up to this point in time never known.
After declaring her mission to the Uganda’s security she settled for Imperial Hotel as the place of her stay during her mission.
Gortez had arrived in the country to investigate a prominent Asian businessman who was printing and circulating fake United States Dollars.
That Asian had grown so wealthy and erected commercial buildings using the fake dollars to finance his investments.
So, therefore, authorities in the United States got much concerned about the abuse of their legal tender and took a decision to dispatch Maria Goertz to conduct secret investigations and receive more incriminating evidence.
The Asian’s paid moles within the security circles to whom the FBI female agent had passed word of her mission, promptly informed their wealthy Asian benefactor.
The Asian man met the serial killer, Richard Arinaitwe at Speke Hotel and paid him to kill Maria Goertz before she could blow the lid off him and cause him big problems.
During the above-mentioned meeting, the Asian man handed a duplicate key of Maria Goertz’s room at Imperial Hotel.
Arinaitwe would later on use the duplicate key and open Maria Goertz’s room before strangling her to death and walking away.
As it can be expected, much as Arinaitwe was arrested and charged with the execution of the American woman, police did not deliberately went a step further to find out who had hired the serial assassin and the motive behind the murder.
Arinaitwe had in case of arrest been strictly to suffer locally or else be bumped off.
Whereas he was sentenced to suffer hanging by the rope, Arinaitwe is still alive and kicking after a landmark judgment of the constitutional court of Uganda that declared unconstitutional delaying hanging of death convicts.
