Susan Abbo, the private secretary to the President in charge of land matters, has intensified efforts to work for life after this earth. The former Makerere Guild President, who Museveni wooed from UYD, works with Mrs. Gertrude Njuba resolving land disputes using administrative interventions on behalf of the President. They operate from their offices in Wandegeya near the defunct Steak Out Bar along Lumumba Avenue. Having opted out of the President’s entourage, an assignment that would keep her very busy and on the move all the time in order to concentrate on office work, Abbo these days has a bit of time than she used to have. She recently started a church which she pastors from her vast compound in Namugongo. She is the main pastor and she is busiest every Fridays and Sundays. On Friday they hold overnight prayers and one main service on Sunday, according to insiders in her congregation of slightly more than 100 well to do worshippers. The church is named “Altar of Righteous Ministries” and sources close to Abbo say members have experienced great transformation and miracles in their lives. Abbo herself has seen God neutralize some of her political enemies that were threatening to make life very hard for her in Kampala.
