President Yoweri Museveni has finally ended his silence and taken a position on the debate regarding how Uganda can gradually achieve universal access to internet by sustainably lowering the cost of internet for both public and private users. On one hand is UTL, backed by Privatization & Investment Minister Evelyn Anite claiming the cost can come to as low as $50 megabyte per second and NITA-Uganda on the other which says it realizes the need for that and believe in its achievability but there are strategic interventions government must make for that to be realized.
