Abed Bwanika, a key thinker and spokesperson in Mathias Mpuuga’s DA pressure group, says Bobi Wine’s role in defeating President Museveni in Busoga sub region in 2021 has been exaggerated for nothing.
Bwanika, who was among those who selfishly encouraged Bobi to stand for President as opposed to becoming complacent after winning the Kyadondo East MP Seat in 2017, says all Mr. Wine did was to be a Presidential candidate but the actual preparatory work and mobilisation that in effectively isolated Gen Museveni in Busoga was done by Sam Walter Lubega Mukaku, Gen Moses Bigirwa and Asuman Basalirwa.
However, Bwanika didn’t explain why and how the same Moses Bigirwa couldn’t win his own race to become Kamuli Municipality MP and why Asuman Basalirwa required the Kyagulanyi good will and cooperation to retain his Bugiri Municipality MP Seat in 2026.
All Abed Bwanika said as to why the trio of Mukaku, Basalirwa & Bigjrwa delivered a killer punch against Gen Museveni and failed to replicate the same against his ruling NRM MP level candidates was that People Power didn’t have enough time to identify credible candidates to win in those same 10 districts where Kyagulanyi won leaving Museveni to win in only 2.
