Spokesperson Mohamad Kyamundu, Rubaga mobilizer Siraje Kifampa and seven other top officials have been expelled from the membership of Justice Forum (Jeema).
These have lately been very outspoken critics of party president Asuman Basalirwa who they say is a mole working for the ruling NRM. They also say he has refused to punish officials like SG Kateregga Mohammed who they claim is on the state house payroll.
They have also been demanding for elections while demanding to know why Basalirwa wants to be party president for life.
In his letter dismissing them, secretary general Mohammed Kateregga says that the nine officials’ conduct of criticizing their party leaders in the media amounts to violating the values the party was formed to promote.
This is the reason they have been suspended until when the disciplinary committee headed by Imam Idi Kasozi has finished inquiring into their alleged misconduct.
He explains that from now on, none of them should attend any public function, address a press conference or attend a radio talk show and be introduced as a Jeema member or official. They are free to do their politics on radio and TV as individual Ugandans but not as Jeema members or representatives.
