I’M NOT DYING TO BECOME PRESIDENT, SAYS DP’S MAO

DP President Norbert Mao

By Simon Turibamwe

DP President General Norbert Mao who on Tuesday told a press briefing that he will die a president or trying to become a president, has again scoffed at those heckling him that he is not dying to be the President of Uganda.

Mao whose ambitions to contest for presidency in the 2021 general elections, has been criticized by his own Butambala DP chairperson MP Muwanga Kivumbi saying that his candidature is sponsored by NRM to fail Bobi Wine, has today said that those who are castigating him are people who considers him a heavy weight and always frightened by his existence. “There is no one who can kick a dead dog because it cannot bite and now they now realized that I bite hard,” said Mao. He said that becoming the President or entering state house is not the only solution for this country and that’s why he has always urged his fellows in opposition to focus and plan beyond removing Museveni. Mao said that he doesn’t care talking about what he considers right and that he will never cover anything with his smile just because of the vote since he is not dying to be the president. “I don’t mind talking points because I can’t hide in a smile to say what is bad just because that I don’t want to annoy the voters. I’m fighting bad regime but I’m not dying to be a president,” he said. Mao bashed the critics that he doesn’t care what they have decided to take him to be and that it will never change his ambition for the presidency. He added that he can’t panic because of individual characters and can’t also stand aside to give out of the struggle because that another force has joined the race. Mao told the media that it is a tragedy for DP to get out of the struggle to pave way for another player instead of welcoming the player into the field. “When teams go to field for the World Cup, their aim is to take the trophy and each makes sure to play hard but no one will call the others spoilers or gets out of the game. That’s not a fair game to call fellow teams as spoilers,” Mao roared.  He said that for those who frightened by the game are the ones in panic but he is very strong on his moves because he is of level above. He said that he cannot blame the critics because they just joined DP for a meal card when they didn’t believe in it. He said that DP is the party that struggled to force Museveni to restore political parties where those meal card politicians got a platform to abuse him. Mao further shocked the nation when he revealed that the opposition is not fit to enter state house because of the bickering. “Imagine where people have just captured power in three months and a member of the ruling party is busy calling his President a spoiler. People who are cheering us today will throw stones on us,” said Mao. For comments, call or text us on 0752510225.
