By Aggrey Baba Housing Finance Bank (HFB) has stepped up its commitment to family development by supporting the recently held national parenting symposium at Kololo Independence Grounds, themed “Parental Involvement, Sex Education, and Children’s Wellbeing.”
Organized by the Mama Tendo Foundation, the symposium brought together over 500 working mothers from Uganda’s corporate and business sectors. The First Lady of Uganda, Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni, delivered the keynote address, drawing from her personal experience as a mother to urge parents to be more intentional in raising morally grounded children.
“Protecting the moral integrity of our children is not a choice, it’s a responsibility,” said the First Lady, calling for greater parental presence and meaningful engagement, particularly on matters of sex education and mental health.
The event attracted participation from MPs, ministers, and corporate leaders, highlighting its national significance in shaping conversations on family, education, and social progress.
Mama Tendo Foundation, under the leadership of its founder Catherine Ruhweza, has for 15 years championed family transformation through parenting seminars, workshops, and online platforms, reaching over 500,000 families.
