Between 2011 and 2016, a young man called Kenneth Bbosa Kiyingi fluked the politics of Mawokota South in Mpigi district and managed to oust the area MP JB Lubyayi of the NRM party. Lubyayi returned in 2016 and politically thumped Kiyingi out of the Mawokota South politics and since that time, the young man has been in oblivion with many wondering where he went. This news website has reliably established from family sources that, having lost his Nkozi hostel to bank loans, Kenneth’s father became financially cracked and yet his financial muscle was the life-line of the son’s politics. Having failed to pay bank loans, Bbossa Sr who had pulled resources out of his Kikubo orbit importation business in 2011 to fund his son’s elections, lost his hostel empire and it was acquired by Hajji Muyanja Mbabali, a fellow NRM sympathizer. Things became even worse for the Bbossa family when the young man, famous for being politically very indecisive, lost his MP Seat and the future looked very bleak. This politically was a sad ending for the young man whose optimistic dad had invested as much as Shs600m in his first election in 2011. The young man tried to challenge Lubyayi’s 2016 victory in court but was advised by lawyers that he had a bad case since himself wasn’t clean in as far as attempted vote rigging in 2016’s Mawokota South was concerned. Having abandoned the case midway, he sneaked out of the country for odd jobs in the USA until recently when he landed the Red Cross gig. His absence has increased chances for Counsel Yusuf Nsibambi to grab the seat come 2021 from NRM’s JB Lubyayi against whom a significant fraction of the voters is unhappy because of the way he voted on the Togikwatako vote resulting into the removal of age limits on the tenure of the President.
