Fideli Mubangizi: NRM’s Fresh Face Poised to Uplift Rushenyi County from Village Struggles to Unmatched Progress

By Mulengera Reporters

Fideli Mubangizi, an ambitious son of Rushenyi County, has officially entered the race for the parliamentary seat of his home constituency, pledging to bring the much-needed change to his people.

With a history of hard work, grassroots leadership, and a deep commitment to service, Mubangizi is ready to take his advocacy from the local to the national level.

Born in Kasaana Central 1 village, Kagongi Parish, Rugarama Sub County, in Ntungamo District, Mubangizi comes from humble beginnings. The third of ten children born to Ms. Kyamanyoha Kadia and Mr. Keijanazo Bernard, Mubangizi’s life has been shaped by the values of resilience and perseverance.

Raised in a peasant family, he spent his childhood working in the fields, selling matooke during school holidays to raise money for his education. Despite the hardships, Mubangizi never lost sight of his dreams and the importance of education.

Mubangizi attended Kagyeyo Primary School before moving on to Bwanga High School in Rukungiri, where he completed O&A levels. He then pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree at Makerere University, majoring in Accounting, and later earned his CPA certification.

While at Makerere, he also demonstrated leadership abilities, serving as Minister of Education in the Guild Representative Council. Mubangizi says these early experiences shaped his desire to serve his community and improve the lives of others.

Now, Mubangizi is ready to take his leadership skills to the next level by representing Rushenyi County in Parliament under the National Resistance Movement (NRM). He believes that the time has come for the younger generation to rise up and take charge of their future, driven by a passion to serve and lead with purpose.

“Rushenyi County has been neglected for far too long,” Mubangizi states. “It is time for the young generation to step in and make a real difference. My goal is to address the challenges facing my people and work tirelessly to improve their lives.”

One of the main issues Mubangizi plans to tackle is the lack of access to clean water. Despite the presence of National Water, many areas in Rushenyi still face water scarcity. He says it’s unacceptable that residents continue to suffer without reliable access to safe drinking water.

Mubangizi is committed to ensuring that every household in Rushenyi County has access to clean water by expanding the water supply infrastructure.

Electricity is another major challenge in the county, with many areas still lacking power. Mubangizi plans to push for better energy access to help businesses grow, support education, and improve the overall quality of life.

He also hopes to address the poor state of public schools, where students struggle to receive a proper education. As a beneficiary of public education himself, he feels a deep responsibility to improve the education system for future generations.

Mubangizi’s leadership is not just about speaking up for his people, but also about taking practical steps to improve their lives.

He has already bought land to build a specialized hospital in Rushenyi County, demonstrating his commitment to improving healthcare for the community. In addition, Mubangizi has been involved in several local initiatives, including the construction and repair of shallow wells and boreholes to provide clean water to rural communities.

Mubangizi’s devotion to his people extends to infrastructure development as well. He has supported the construction of local bridges to make roads passable, benefiting pregnant women, schoolchildren, and traders who rely on these roads. “Our roads have been neglected for far too long,” he says. “I want to ensure that people can travel easily and safely, especially when it comes to accessing medical care or getting to school.”

Sports and women’s empowerment are also close to Mubangizi’s heart. This Women’s Day, he is organizing a football gala between Rubale Sub-County and Ngoma Sub-County. The event, which will coincide with his birthday, will feature women’s teams, and Mubangizi plans to provide a pack of sanitary pads to every woman who attends the match. He believes that sports can be a powerful tool for community engagement and empowerment.

“I want to give women in my community the recognition they deserve,” Mubangizi explains. “This event will celebrate their strength, and I want to use it to raise awareness about the importance of women’s health.”

Mubangizi is also focused on youth empowerment. He has witnessed firsthand the struggles of young people in his community, many of whom face high levels of unemployment and limited opportunities.

He plans to create programs that will equip the youth with skills and create avenues for employment, envisioning a future where young people can engage in income-generating activities and contribute to the growth of the county.

As an accountant, Mubangizi understands the importance of accountability and he promises to be a transparent and responsible leader who will always prioritize the needs of his constituents.

“I know the value of hard work and the importance of being accountable to the people who trust you,” he says. “When elected, I will ensure that resources are used wisely and that every decision made in Parliament is for the benefit of Rushenyi County.”

To Mubangizi, the time for change is now. With his background in leadership, his commitment to service, and his deep love for his community, he believes he is the right person to represent Rushenyi County in Parliament.

“Rushenyi deserves a leader who listens, who works hard, and who understands the struggles of the people,” Mubangizi emphasized. “I am that leader, and I am ready to serve.”

As Mubangizi’s campaign gains momentum, it is clear that he is not just a candidate, but a man of action, ready to transform Rushenyi County and provide a better future for its residents. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
