FDC: WHY POA IS STUCK WITH DEFIANT MWIRU

By Our Reporters

Jinja East MP Paul Mwiru has cunningly acted with so much impunity so far and provoked FDC party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat (POA) and kept getting away with it like no other. When Gen Muntu unveiled his New Formation, Mwiru used his Thursday CBS radio program to openly declare he was for New Formation meaning his days in FDC aren’t intended to be many. Consequently many expected POA to swiftly act-being a self-declared man of action. This is months later and Mwiru remains un-replaced as Deputy Party Spokesperson deputizing Semujju Ibrahim Nganda. It’s considered that being Opposition Chief Whip, Semujju’s plate is almost full hence the prudence of urgently getting him a committed deputy to respond to regular inquiries from the media and other stakeholders. POA recently sought views on how to go about the Mwiru saga and the different reports he got indicated action must be decisively taken to neutralize the Jinja East MP who publicly declared Bruce Musema as the FDC candidate for Arua Municipality but went ahead to endorse and campaign for Kassiano Wadri (an independent who has since severed links with FDC). “Consensus is that John Kikonyogo would be the best replacement to deputize Semujju Nganda but there are protocol challenges POA is still contending with. Under Gen Muntu, Kikonyogo served as the Ag Party spokesperson after then incumbent spokesman Wafula Ogutu became LoP and got too busy. The challenge is how to get somebody who served as Spokesperson for such a long time to now become a deputy of someone else. That’s the only glitch otherwise the decision to forget about Mwiru and have him formally replaced was taken long time ago,” said a knowledgeable source close to POA.  For feedback, call, text or whatsapp us on 0703164755.
