At the Abakyala Ku Ntikko 2025 launch held at UMA in Kampala on March 13, Equity Bank Uganda’s Managing Director, Mr. Gift Shoko, delivered inspiring remarks that highlighted the power, resilience, and potential of women entrepreneurs.
In his address, Mr. Shoko greeted the audience warmly and emphasized that the strong turnout was proof of women’s commitment and determination in business. He noted that research shows projects started by women tend to last longer, reflecting their resilience and ability to drive sustainable success.
Mr. Shoko also shared Equity Bank’s dedication to empowering women. He revealed that female employees make up more than half of the bank’s workforce and expressed the bank’s goal to have at least 50% of its leadership positions held by women.
The bank’s tailor-made products support women at every stage, from startups to large enterprises, ensuring that women can think big and grow their ideas without limitations.
Closing his remarks, Mr. Shoko thanked the women for their significant contribution to the Ugandan economy and encouraged them to take full advantage of the networking and support available.
