CBS Finally Succumbs to Public Pressure,   Allows to Give Platform to Kyagulanyi

By Mulengera Reporters

Since his fallout with Mathias Mpuuga, who would use the LoP pisition to connect them to money-making deals, managers at CBS had become lukewarm and overtly hostile towards Bobi Wine and his NUP brand of politics.

These same managers have been giving a platform to Moses Kasibante, Abed Bwanika, Lubega Mukaku etc to come and portray Mr. Wine as anti-Kabaka while claiming that he buys data for hundreds of foot soldiers to use tiktok and other social media platforms to demonize the Kabaka, his wife the Nabagereka, his siblings, royal family members and top officials at Mengo including the Katikkiro.

Instead, the two Buganda Kingdom media platforms (CBS & BBS TV) had taken a stand to be pro-Mpuuga many of whose adherents are allowed unlimited access to use CBS and Terefayina to bash and demonise Mr. Wine as a person. These include Abed Bwanika, Lubega Mukaku, Moses Kasibante and others.

Led by Tomusange Kayinja, the CBS reporters especially from Greater Masaka had also taken to being openly partisan in favor of Mpuuga and against Bobi Wine and his NUP Party. Angered by this, some of Kabaka’s subjects in Masaka (where Kyagulanyi enjoys organic support) resorted to threatening to boycott CBS if the anti-Kyagulanyi demonization doesn’t stop.

The public, through guys who call into CBS programs, have vigorously been protesting this open bias against Bobi Wine who undisputedly is currently the most popular politician in Buganda. They have openly been demanding that the Kgagulanyi camp also gets represented on CBS as opposed to dedicating the entire platform to the Mpuuga adherents only. Muwanga Kivumbi has largely been the only NUP voice on CBS.

Perhaps having reflected on all these concerns and the possibility of losing its number one position as ratings could potentially shrink, the CBS top management has finally allowed the moderator to bring and host LoP Joel Ssenyonyi, who is a right hand man of Mr. Wine.

Meddie Nsereko, a veteran political talk show host on CBS where he has been doing the same thing since 1996 having started out with Mulindwa Muwonge, says that his bosses have finally authorized him and Ssenyonyi will be a special guest on Tuesday during the Kiriza oba Gana program which airs on 89.2fm from 7pm to 9pm every week day.

Kyagulanyi supporters, who will predictably be amused by this offer, have been demanding that either Alex Waisswa Mufumbiro or David Lewis Rubongoya becomes a permanent panelist on the Saturday Parliament Yaffe program to be able to counter Abed Bwanika, Imam Kasozi, Yusuf Nzibambi, Kasule Sebunya and others who are fond of coming around to contradict everything Bobi Wine and other NUP officials stand for. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
