The Kilak North Member of Parliament, Anthony Akol has been rushed to hospital after surviving death in a nasty accident he was involved in this morning along Kampala- Gulu highway.
The accident happened after Akol who was in the car, a Prado TX with his driver Felix Ongora knocked a cow on Kafu River in Nakasongola district at around 1:00 am.
Akol who is also the shadow Minister of Finance and his driver were rushed to Kiryandongo hospital where they are getting treatment. According to Kilak South MP Gilbert Olanya, the MP is complaining of terrible chest pain but is reportedly out of danger. “He was not driving but his driver, but they realized all of a sudden that there was a cow on the road,” Olanya said.
Akol and his driver are currently transferred to International Hospital of Kampala (IHK) for further examination. Several members of Parliament have been involved in accidents in the past months when heading to or returning from their constituencies.
Last month, Michael Kabaziguruka the Nakawa MP was involved in an accident for the second time. The accident happened at Matugga along Bombo road. Late last year, Aruu County MP Odonga Otto was also involved in an accident in Nakasongola district. For comments, call or text us on 0752510225.
