Airtel Uganda continues to stand at the forefront of gender equality, championing the empowerment of women in leadership, innovation, and beyond.

On International Women’s Day 2025, the company took a bold stance, reaffirming its commitment to breaking down barriers, fostering inclusivity, and creating opportunities for women to thrive in all aspects of life.

With an unyielding belief in the power of women, Airtel Uganda’s Managing Director, Soumendra Sahu, sent a strong message of support, encouraging every woman within the company to take charge of their destiny. “At Airtel, we believe in the power of women to shatter ceilings and redefine success. We encourage our female colleagues to make bold moves, seize new opportunities, and aim higher,” he stated passionately.

His words resonated across the company, reinforcing the idea that success knows no gender and that women should never hesitate to step into spaces traditionally dominated by men.

This year’s celebration was not just a symbolic gesture but a clear commitment to continuous action. Airtel Uganda has long recognized that when women are given the tools, resources, and mentorship they need, they become unstoppable forces for growth, transformation, and success.

The company has put in place structures to ensure that women are not just included but are actively leading and innovating in critical sectors. From top management to technical roles, Airtel has made it a priority to see women excel, demonstrating that gender balance is not just a concept but a practical reality within its operations.

Beyond the company’s walls, Airtel Uganda is also working to inspire the next generation of female leaders. By providing mentorship programs, leadership training, and career advancement opportunities, Airtel is ensuring that women are not only given a seat at the table but are also equipped to take charge and make impactful decisions.

The company understands that for true progress to happen, the cycle of empowerment must continue from one generation to the next.

Soumendra Sahu’s message was clear, that Airtel Uganda is not just a participant in the conversation about gender equality, but also a driving force behind real change. “Here’s to fearless ambition, unstoppable growth, and a future where every woman’s potential is limitless,” he said, reaffirming Airtel’s vision for gender inclusivity and empowerment.

With a legacy of supporting women in leadership, technology, and entrepreneurship, Airtel Uganda remains committed to breaking down societal norms that limit female potential. The company is setting the pace for a new era where women are not just encouraged to succeed but are empowered with every tool necessary to do so.

This International Women’s Day, Airtel Uganda did not just celebrate women, but also their power to transform the world. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
