The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has once again shown why it is Uganda’s leading water service provider by swiftly responding to concerns raised by former Urban TV news anchor Denis Duke Woniala.
Woniala recently took to X to share his frustration after noticing unexpected spikes in his water bills at his property. He explained that for months he had been paying modest amounts of between 8,000 to 10,000 UGX, only for the charges to suddenly increase without clear explanation.
NWSC acted promptly after receiving Denis’s complaint. A team was dispatched to investigate the issue on site. Preliminary results confirmed that water had been used at the property, and importantly, no leakage was detected. The corporation also pledged to continue monitoring the account to ensure that billing remains accurate.
“We value all customer feedback and are committed to delivering excellent service,” NWSC stated. “We are patiently waiting for Denis to share his account details so we can fully investigate the matter and resolve it to his satisfaction.”
This quick and professional response demonstrates NWSC’s dedication to customer service. By sending teams to investigate directly, maintaining clear communication, and ensuring ongoing monitoring, the corporation reassures customers that their concerns are taken seriously.
Denis’s video sparked wide discussion on social media, but NWSC’s proactive engagement highlights the organization’s commitment to accountability and service excellence. The corporation has proven that even high-profile concerns are addressed efficiently and transparently.
Through this response, NWSC not only resolved the specific issue but also reinforced its reputation for reliability and professionalism. By continuously improving customer engagement and addressing problems quickly, NWSC ensures that Ugandans receive dependable access to water—a necessity for everyday life.
This incident serves as a reminder that NWSC is ready to listen, act, and support all its customers, making it a benchmark for service quality in Uganda’s water sector.
