In a widely-publicized notice, Bernadette Lewis who is the Secretary General for London-based Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO) has called on qualified persons to take advantage of the fact that the 12th October deadline is still far and respond to the lucrative job advert publicizing a life-changing career opportunity at her organization.
All qualified persons from the CTO member countries, including Uganda, are encouraged to apply for the job of Head of Finance who will be officed at CTO Secretariat in London. Citizens from any CTO member country with a financial professional background are called upon to apply, as CTO is an equal opportunity employer. The officer, once recruited, will be reporting directly to the Secretary General and will be required to closely collaborate with Head of Digital Department & Global Relations Department at CTO as well as with the Head of Corporate Services, in order to support cross functional initiatives with the overall objective of driving the organization’s overall performance and financial efficiency.
The officer will also be charged with ensuring regulatory compliance on top of providing strategic financial insights to inform and enrich executive level decision-making for the organisation. He/she will also be charged with safeguarding the financial integrity of the organisation.
Yet that isn’t all. The officer will also be charged with leading all accounting operations at CTO-on top of ensuring that accurate and timely financial reporting is done at all times. For the case of Uganda, the primary contact agency of Government of Uganda that is concerned with all CTO business is none other that the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), which falls under the Ministry of ICT & National Guidance.
