Led by Hajji Makolo Kavuma, radio phone callers on Saturday ganged up on Top Radio and publicly advised Kampala Minister Minsa Kabanda not to waste her time standing for MP Kampala Central because as far as they are concerned, that position is for NUP Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya.
They told Minsa Kabanda that they respect her very much because she had de-escalated wars in Kampala by working well with the people’s Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago but they won’t back her for the Kampala MP Seat for which she is already campaigning.
The phone callers advised Minsa Kabanda to use the billions she has made as Kampala Minister to look after herself while investing for her retirement because she simply doesn’t stand any chance.
They claimed that Rubongoya is number 2 in NUP and there is no way the country’s nascent party, which currently dominates Buganda region, can take chances by having him politically humiliated.
They said the only way Minsa Kabanda can increase her chances is by defecting to NUP and declare support for Bobi Wine as the next President of Uganda.
Minsa Kabanda rejected this suggestion and made it clear that she was NRM and Gen Museveni, for whom she is already campaigning, will always be her choice for President for as long as he remains alive and interested in the job.
