As part of his Busoga wealth creation mobilization tour, President Museveni this Friday addressed a rally at Kamuli youth center. He was joined by Vice President Alupo, Deputy Prime Minister Rebecca Kadaga and others.
At the rally, the Kamuli NRM youth chairman inadvertently got Museveni signal the country whether he will run for reelection in 2026 or not. It’s something he has always been vague and ambivalent about. The young man praised Museveni and ran through his achievements where after he declared he is their generation candidate as young people from Busoga come 2026.
After reflecting on the circumstances under which their candidate Museveni was floored in Busoga by NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi, the young man (who was his agent at the polling station at that same location in 2021) signaled her fellow youth leaders to step forward and declare their endorsement of Gen Museveni.
The veteran leader from Rwakitura was required to reciprocate this by standing up and raise his hand up only and only if he had accepted the endorsement and he is prepared to reciprocate it by offering himself to seek reelection on behalf of the NRM.
And Gen Museveni demonstrated readiness to run as requested by standing up and indeed raising his hand up to demonstrate readiness and willingness to run for the same job come 2026.
All leaders present stood up to compliment the President as he accepted the endorsement to seek reelection in 2026.
