Betty Ethel Naluyima, the versatile Wakiso district Vice Chairperson, is heavily pregnant and could deliver a child in the not so distant future.
She deputizes Matia Lwanga Bwanika who always delegates her to attend public functions and workshops to which Wakiso district LG is invited.
And gratefully she is always very outspoken ever using the plenary sessions to lobby for Wakiso and other district local governments whose views she says are always overlooked.
Early Thursday, Naluyima attended the Finance Ministry event at Golf Course where the Makerere-based Economic Policy Research Center (EPRC) report on Uganda’s readiness to go into agricultural industrialization was unveiled and as usual she insisted on saying something.
Fearing to be seen as mean and insensitive to a heavily pregnant woman, Patrick Kamara (who was the session moderator) chose her to say something.
But other participants, who had always seen and taken note of the energy with which Naluyima always spoke at previous workshops, realized she was heavily pregnant prompting some (who also thought she wasn’t married) to ask “but who is that sharp man that did this to her?”
We too aren’t in position to answer that question about the long-serving councilor from Kiira rumored to be eyeing the Wakiso woman MP job.
