The Yoga Yoga Jajja Victory Celebration held on 13th March 2026 at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds stood as a powerful demonstration of mobilization strength and political support. Beyond the music, speeches, and meals, the event reflected the long-standing commitment and resilience of NRM mobilization groups that have consistently rallied citizens to participate in national events.
This celebration was particularly significant in light of a prior engagement in September 2025, when representatives of activity-based mobilization groups met President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at State House Entebbe. During that meeting, the groups clearly articulated their role in mobilizing masses for national functions, including rallies wherever the President is present. They emphasized that, despite their consistent efforts, they had often gone unrecognized in his presence.
The mobilizers further expressed concern that although funds are sometimes allocated for mobilization activities, these resources rarely reach the individuals and groups doing the actual groundwork. Despite this challenge, they affirmed their unwavering dedication, noting that they had continued mobilizing citizens voluntarily, driven by patriotism rather than financial incentives.
The Yoga Yoga Jajja event therefore became a practical confirmation of what had been shared with the President. Organized by the State House Local Content Unit in conjunction with the Umbrella Association of NRM Activity-Based Mobilization Groups, the celebration was a clear outcome of structured coordination and recognition. It reflected the President’s guidance that these mobilization groups be coordinated under Statehouse Local Content Unit.
The massive turnout at Kololo was not accidental. It was the direct result of deliberate and effective grassroots mobilization. NRM supporters from across the country were reached, informed, and encouraged to participate. The presence of thousands of supporters demonstrated the strength, reach, and influence of these mobilization groups, validating their earlier message to the President.
Importantly, the event marked a shift toward acknowledgment. For the first time, the role of organized mobilization groups was clearly reflected in the scale and success of a national celebration held in the President’s presence. This served as both recognition and encouragement, reinforcing the importance of involving NRM mobilization groups in party activities.
The celebration also highlighted the power of unity and coordination. By working together under the Umbrella Association of NRM Activity-Based Mobilization Groups and the State House Local Content Unit, mobilizers achieved a level of organization that translated into tangible results. It demonstrated that, when given direction and structure, mobilization groups can significantly contribute to national events and political engagement.
In conclusion, the Yoga Yoga Jajja Victory Celebration was more than a political gathering. It was a testament to the strength of NRM activity-based mobilization groups. It affirmed the truth of what was communicated to the President in September 2025- that these groups are the backbone of mass mobilization. Their efforts, often carried out without recognition or funding, were clearly evident in the success of the event. Moving forward, this recognition should serve as a foundation for greater support, inclusion, and empowerment of NRM mobilization groups across the country.
