The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has stepped up its environmental protection campaign — and this time, the focus is on wildlife.
From thick forests to wide savannahs, URA is sending out a strong message: protecting Uganda’s natural heritage is everyone’s responsibility.
Under its bold Green Guard Campaign, URA is now using its social media platforms to rally staff and citizens to plant trees, protect wildlife, and reduce paper usage. The campaign, launched in November 2023, has grown steadily and is gaining fresh momentum in 2026.
URA says the mission is clear, fight poaching, conserve wildlife, and ensure that future generations inherit a country rich in natural life.
In recent engagements, the Commissioner General has openly championed environmental conservation, urging staff to replace every tree that is cut down and embrace sustainable practices in their daily work. The authority is also promoting reduced paper usage across its offices as part of its drive toward a cleaner and greener Uganda.
The Green Guard Campaign is not just about words. It is a structured sustainability effort that calls on both URA employees and the wider public to take practical action — from tree planting to wildlife awareness.
By shifting attention from forests to savannahs, URA is broadening its environmental footprint, showing that conservation goes beyond revenue collection. The authority is positioning itself as a defender not only of the economy, but also of Uganda’s priceless natural resources.
URA’s message rings loud and firm: protecting wildlife is not optional — it is a shared national duty. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
