Under Fire Mulyanyama Declares War on CBS Man Alex Nsubuga

Outgoing Makindye Mayor Ali Kasirye Nganda Mulyanyama has defended his right to keep oscillating from seeking the position of Kampala Lord Mayor, to Makindye West MP slot and more recently Makindye East after the incumbent Derrick Nyeko controversially pulled out.

In a live phone interview during the Friday 88.8fm CBS news segment, Mulyanyama was asked why he wasn’t feeling ashamed to be an old man who the young boys in NUP headquarters at Kavule keep tossing around. In his response, Mulyanyama said there is nothing wrong with his political nomadism because the laws of Uganda don’t expressly prohibit the same.

“I’m a Ugandan who is allowed to stand anywhere including in Bukoto South [in Lwengo district] where Twaha Kagabo betrayed us and went to PLU and later on NRM.  I’m the dangerous substitute for NUP which is why I had to step in to prevent NRM from taking our seat after Derrick Nyeko exited. These other guys are very weak and unknown. If we leave it to them, the NRM lady is going to take our seat,” said Mulyanyama who DF’s big man Mike Mabikke is busy telling voters to shun because of his inability to express himself in the English language.

When the interviewer Alex Nsubuga kept pushing the hard questions, Mulyanyama imploded and branded him a partisan journalist who hates NUP and is always out to embarrass politicians who are loyal to Kavule.

“I know you also have personal problems at CBS where you work and that means you are not as important as you think and I know you are there to use your position [as news editor] to undermine NUP but you won’t succeed,” Mulyanyama told off Nsubuga who refused to be intimidated and kept asking the hard questions.

Mulyanyama added that CBS should be celebrating him for moving from being a mere being Makindye Mayor to eyeing the Lord Mayorship for the whole Kampala and now MP. “That shows that my curve is rising and growing upwards unlike these other people who were MPs and are now fighting to become parish councillors.”

Directing this particular attack at ex-MPs Moses Kasibante (Rubaga North) and Latif Sebaggala (Kawempe North), Mulyanyama asserted: “Why don’t you criticize and belittle someone who was an MP and an Imam of all Muslims MPs at Parliament and he is now fighting to become a councillor at the Division so that he becomes an Imam for those very councillors?”

To Mulyanyama, Latif deserves to be laughed at for seeking to become the Kawempe Mayor, which in the eyes of the Katwe-bred streetwise outgoing Makindye Mayor amounts to being a mere Councillor. He also belittled DF’s Moses Kasibante, who is leading the verbal assault on NUPians, by saying that his decision to avoid seeking to recapture his Rubaga North MP Seat and to instead go for Rubaga Division Mayor was indicative of a politician in decline.

Mulyanyama also belittled former NBS presenter TuffB aka Robert Ssekidde who is vying for the Makindye East NUP flag bearer position. TuffB had earlier on brought together fellow aspirants to address a news conference during which they castigated Mulyanyama for opportunistically abandoning Makindye West at the last minute to come and disorganize them in Makindye East where they are facing DF’s Mike Mabikke.

Mulyanyama says TuffB is a little-known politician who used to abuse and belittle Bobi Wine on NBS TV and should therefore not be seeking the NUP flag. TuffB has responded by demanding to know why “this 70-year-old grandfather doesn’t retire to go home and play gogolo with his grandchildren.”

It’s suspected that the NUP very destructive wars are going to escalate in the coming days as the party faithfuls countdown to the release of the final list of flag bearers for the MP positions in the whole country.

Mulyanyama has promised to rally behind whoever Kavule gives the ticket in case he doesn’t turn out to be the person Bobi Wine chooses to front against veteran fighter Mike Mabikke.
