Having engaged in endless shouting matches between himself on one hand and belligerents at the ongoing ruling NRM conference at Kololo on the other, the ruling party’s EC Chairman Dr. Tanga Odoi has noticeably lost his voice. He also seems dehydrated and physically exhausted a bit.
And consequently, he is currently (as pf Wednesday afternoon) struggling to make himself heard at the ongoing conference as thousands of delegates prepare to cast their ballot to determine the new regional chairpersons for Buganda, Northern Uganda, Eastern Uganda, Western Uganda plus the two special regions of Kampala and Karamoja.
Tanga’s voice is always sharp and distinguishable but as of now, delegates are struggling to hear him as he reads out the seven polling stations and the guidelines to be followed. This conspicuous loss of voice is not very surprising because the man from Kisoko has had endless verbal quarrels with candidates and thousands of their supporters at Kololo. This has been going on throughout the day and throughout the nights.
All this notwithstanding, the new billionaire from Kisoko in the Bukedi district of Tororo has remained physically strong while exhibiting all his characteristic stamina. He has vowed to remain standing at the conference at Kololo and intends to be the last one to leave the Ceremonial Grounds, which is likely to be in the late afternoon of Thursday.
