Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) held URA Women’s Conference 2025 at Lakeview Resort Hotel in Mbarara, and Allen Nassanga, the Acting Commissioner for Strategy and Risk Management delivered a compelling message to female entrepreneurs, that tax compliance is not just a legal requirement, but a biblical principle.
Addressing a gathering of businesswomen, investors, and industry leaders, Nassanga drew on scriptural references to highlight the spiritual obligation of fulfilling tax duties.
“Even in the Bible, Jesus teaches us to ‘Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar.’ And Paying taxes is not just about legal compliance, but an act of faith and integrity,” she stated.
Nassanga encouraged the women to view tax compliance as a foundation for business growth and financial security, urging them to maintain proper records, fulfill their tax obligations, and contribute to Uganda’s economic development.
She also emphasized that URA is committed to supporting women in business by providing tax education and guidance to help them thrive in a compliant and transparent environment.
The Acting Commissioner’s message resonated deeply with the audience, reinforcing the idea that honoring tax obligations is both a civic duty and a moral responsibility.
