Fuel dealer Hajj Mandela lost it in court and publicly ranted over a proposal to involve Kabaka Ronald Mutebi in his and his fellow businessman, Capt Roy Zziwa’s personal land wrangles.
Mandela was appearing before Justice Stephen Mubiru as a witness in the matter where Mandela accuses him of illegally purchasing his land located in Garuga village, Entebbe Municipality on Lake Victoria shores.
The proposal was tabled by Capt Roy’s lawyers from the law firm of Omoding and Company Advocates based on their client’s Conrad Building located along Jinja Road in Kampala.
Justifying their proposal, Capt Roy’s cited the two businessmen’s friendship and loyalty with the King of Buganda kingdom.
But no sooner had the defense lawyers uttered the proposal than Mandela exploded into a rant.
” I am merely a very loyal subject of His Majesty whom I cannot involve in my personal issues,” Mandela ranted.
Continued Mandela,” If His Majesty pleases and commands me to do something, I just go forth and do it.”
Mandela’s situation lighted up court and left the defense lawyers seeking for more.
Justice Mubiru advised the two wrangling businessmen to amicably settle their land issues since they are friends as well as loyal subjects of Kabaka Mutebi.
Mandela proposed a billion shilling as an out of court settlement fee but Capt Roy said his friend betrayed him by purchasing his land behind his back and at a song.
It’s understood that Mandela paid more than two billion shillings for the land which his tycoon friend Capt Roy dismisses as being pocket change.
The land was sold during a public auction after Capt Roy’s defunct Gaming International reportedly failed to service a debt. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
