This week, the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has made another monumental step in improving water access across Uganda with the successful delivery of water mains for the much-anticipated Parego water project in Moyo. The intervention is expected to significantly enhance water supply in the town, particularly during peak demand periods, and offer reliable access to clean water for thousands of residents.
Once the project is fully completed, it will not only improve the water supply for Moyo town, but also extend its benefits to surrounding villages, including Vurra, Afogi, Adua, Ariju, Kendi, Toloro, and many more. This extensive network expansion will provide consistent water supply to over twenty communities in the region, making it easier for residents in areas such as Parego, Pacuawi, Pamoti, and even far-reaching towns like Madagasca, Logoba, and Elenderea to access clean water whenever they need it.
NWSC’s commitment to delivering “Water for All” is evident in their efforts to address the growing demand for reliable water services, particularly in regions like Moyo, where water scarcity has long been a challenge. By expanding the infrastructure and increasing supply capacity, NWSC is ensuring that these communities no longer face water shortages during peak times, providing a sense of relief and security to families across the district.
In a statement shared by NWSC, the corporation reiterated its mission to keep customers satisfied by continuously working to improve water supply systems across Uganda. “We are committed to water for all, for a delighted customer by a delighted workforce,” the post read, showcasing their dedication to meeting the needs of the communities they serve.
This ambitious water project is a clear example of how NWSC continues to work tirelessly to provide sustainable and reliable water access to all corners of Uganda. As the Parego water project nears completion, NWSC’s promise to improve water reliability and increase accessibility for its customers is truly becoming a reality. #waterman.
