Nominations of candidates will be conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC) over two days beginning on September 23 and ending on September 24,2025.
The exercise will be starting at 10.00 am in the morning and closes at 4.00 pm in the afternoon.
The same will be conducted from the EC offices located in Kigo village in Makindye Sub County in Wakiso district.
REQUIREMENTS: A candidate must be of 18 years of age, a citizen of Uganda and must turn up at the EC nomination venue armed with his or her certified academic qualifications.
To be successfully nominated, would require prior submission of 100 voters backing the same drawn from a total of 98 different districts and payment of a non-refundable fee worth Shs20m on top of a certificate of compliance to be issued by EC.
To ensure an orderly and peaceful exercise, an intending candidate must turn up at th nomination venue with only 10 supporters and two vehicles will be permitted to deliver a candidate, his supporters including the drivers.
No candidate will be permitted to hold rallies during the nomination period from inside the nomination venue and its precincts. Police will be called upon to deal with the violators of the issued guidelines.
