The summary findings coming from the IPSOS National Audience Measurement Survey (NAMS) 2024 have been released and made public. At a time when many Ugandans believe its settled that Dr. Kin Kariisa’s Next Media is the country’s number one in everything, the IPSOS report carries shocking findings and paints totally a different picture.
Thousands of Robert Kyagulanyi’s foot soldiers, who for long have been at war with Next Media platforms while claiming they are biased against NUP, have since taken to social media to chest thump upon seeing how NBS isn’t Uganda’s undisputed number one TV station and the most watched nationally, as had all along been believed to be the case.
NATIONAL TV RANKING:
When it comes to Uganda’s nationally most watched TV station, Bukedde TV1 is in number one position with 42% of listeners having it as their number one. Bukedde TV is followed by NTV Uganda in number two with 28% of the entire national TV audience ascertained to be paying attention to them. Spark TV is in number 3 with 20% of the national viewership. NBS trails in number 4 with 18% of the national audience! This is a finding that has intrigued many.
SHARING THE WESTERN REGION:
When it comes to the most watched TV station in Western Uganda, Vision Group’s TV West leads with 58%; followed by Bukedde TV1, NTV Uganda at 26% and Spark TV at 20%.
RADIO RANKINGS:
The most listened to radio station in West Nile is revealed to be Arua One at 43.3%, followed by Radio Pacis at 31.4%, Pakwach fm at 19.4%, Voice of Life at 18.4% and Access fm at 17.2%.
RADIO STATIONS:
When it comes to the most listened to radio in Western Uganda, still Don Wanyama’s Vision Group dominated in 2024 with their Radio West being number one with 45% of the radio listeners in the region being dedicated to it. They are followed by Crooze fm at 23%, Vision Radio at 18%, Kazo fm at 15% and Kitagwenda County MP Nulu Byamukama’s Endigyito radio at 14.2%.
When it comes to Teso sub region, Radio Etop, which is Vision Group’s too, is number one with 77% of radio listeners in the sub region being dedicated to it. They are followed by Mike Mukula’s Voice of Teso, Veritas Radio, Aisa fm, Joshua fm and Mama fm.
MOST READ NEWSPAPER:
When it comes to Uganda’s most read newspaper, New Vision still leads with 41% being dedicated to it nationally. Bukedde, which is Vision Group’s too, follows in the 2nd position with 30% as Daily Monitor trails at 19%.
