It has been confirmed this Wednesday evening that President Museveni has further sealed the fate of Jennifer Bamuturaki by giving the Uganda Airlines top CEO job to an expatriate from Ethiopia. His name is Girma Wake, who is one of the leading and very best brains in the aviation business on the African continent. He previously headed Ethiopian Airlines (2004-2011), one of the most formidable on the African continent and transformed it into the giant it is today.
Gen Museveni this Wednesday afternoon hosted Girma Wake for pre-assignment at State House for talks during which he told him “we have this big problem at Uganda Airlines and I have been convinced you are the right person to help us, please go in and sort out the mess.” The Ethiopian will identify members of the team he will be working with to mainly oversee the recruitment of the new CEO and other members of the top management at the Uganda Airlines, which the GoU revived amidst high expectations in the year 2019.
Mulengera News understands that Girma will be steering the ship in the interim period to enable the Government of Uganda to undertake a rigorous recruitment exercise aimed at identifying the most suitable candidate to substantively hold the CEO job.
