Influential media consultant Tamale Mirundi has explained why he can never attack Bobi Wine in his media talk shows. Mirundi says that attacking Bobi Wine would be betrayal because the man from Magere showed maximum respect for him by visiting his home where he admitted that the man from Kalisizo is a very influential media figure. “He looked for me and we met, an encounter during which he asked for my support and endorsement for his political battles. I’m for Museveni and there is no way I would support Bobi but I respect him for his gesture of acknowledging the power of Mirundi. I’m not his supporter but I still can’t attack him because he strategically is my ally because the pressure he has created has made these young Mafias in government who squeezed me out to have sleepless nights,” Mirundi said. “He is not the only one to look for me acknowledging my strength. Bebe Cool looked for me as did Gen Henry Tumukunde. Because he fears I can demonize him, Tumukunde invited me and pleaded that I go on radio and TV to be the one to announce his bid for Kampala Mayorship. His trick was to reach out to me and pre-emptively ensure I don’t criticize him for the job.” Mirundi says he assured Tumukunde he wasn’t ready to take the risk of leading his campaign because he previously complained against his loyalty to ex-IGP Kale Kayihura. Mirundi also made reference to Amama Mbabazi and Besigye saying that unlike Bobi Wine, the two veteran politicians had resorted to subjecting him to a contempt card whereby however much he criticizes them, they never respond to what he says.
