Excellence is not an act, but a habit, and the timeless adage rang true on Friday, at Equity Bank Uganda’s Church House branch, where the spotlight fell on one of the institution’s unsung heroes, Betty Akia, a security guard whose dedication to service has inspired both customers and colleagues alike.
Betty Akia was recognized for her exceptional commitment to customer care after one of the bank’s valued clients, Miss Margret Abwoyo, publicly commended her for going above and beyond in her role.
Moved by the praise and the impact of her service, Equity Bank’s Managing Director, Gift Shoko, personally awarded Betty a cash prize of UGX 500,000 in appreciation of her outstanding efforts.
The gesture underscores Equity Bank’s commitment to not only delivering exceptional financial services but also fostering a culture of excellence, recognition, and appreciation among its staff, regardless of their role.
“Betty represents the true spirit of Equity, where every team member, from the front desk to the security gate, plays a crucial role in delivering value to our customers,” said Mr. Shoko during the award ceremony.
As Betty continues to stand tall at her post, her story serves as a powerful reminder that excellence knows no rank. Equity Bank proudly celebrates her and hopes her dedication will inspire many more across its network.
