KCCA Lord Councillor James Mubiru, who is a close ally and acquaintance of Bobi Wine and his wife Barbie of Magere where he frequently goes without appointment, has sprung up with a controversial framing of issues regarding the circumstances under which the NUP Presidential Candidate and others at lower levels lost the just-ended elections.
James Mubiru, who also claims to be a devout Born-Again Christian, says that the stealing of NUP candidates’ votes in favour of their NRM competitors was well planned and orchestrated in a conspiracy that involved Museveni accomplices and enablers operating from inside the NUP party.
He asserts that each and every candidate NUP fielded in the Kampala Metropolitan districts of Mukono, Kampala and Wakiso was supposed to win with a landslide. Yet many of them didn’t and Mubiru says this was because of the deliberate targeting and stealing of their votes which was done by the NRM aided by people who pretend to be NUP.
In a controversial video, Mubiru says that the Kavule-based party has been infiltrated and its agenda hijacked by moles pretending to be for Kyagulanyi yet in actual sense, they are working to weaken the struggle from within while creating advantage for the NRM.
Mubiru gives the example of Rubaga South’s Julius Katongole Mumiransanafu who he says was rigged of his victory for the KCCA Lord Councillor slot after the NRM secured cooperation of insiders within inside NUP. He gives the example of a one Kakooza and other leaders within the Kunga mobilization structures, who allegedly connived with NRM to avenge their failure to get the NUP tickets.
Mubiru claims that it was such connivance that enabled the ruling NRM candidates to upstage their NUP opponents for the Division and Lord Councillor positions.
He says that all Division Councils in Kampala are now dominated by NRMs not because the ruling party has all of a sudden become more popular and politically stronger, but merely because of the work of moles who are determined to betray Bobi Wine and his entire political revolution aimed at delivering a New Uganda.
The likes of James Mubiru will continue realizing that even the Kizza Besigye they spent time (2017-2021) branding a mole and a Museveni project, for many years suffered such betrayals except that he always restrained himself and suffered silently in order to avoid the wider escalation among opposition forces.
It was this conviction that Kizza Besigye had been given enough opportunity to lead the opposition, that pushed James Mubiru to lead a group of NUP vigilantes during the year 2019, to storm CBS studios and physically attack Dr. Besigye, who they argued had no right to speak on Buganda Kingdom’s mouth piece simply because he was a Westerner just like Gen YK Museveni. Indeed, they are now gradually realizing that the anti-Museveni struggle is much more complicated than they originally thought.
