City lawyer Male Mabirizi says he isn’t moved even by an inch by threats by Presidential Advisor Tamale Mirundi to use witchcraft and supernatural powers to defeat him in the defamation suit he filed against him. Mabirizi tells Mulengera news that when the process server rang Mirundi to notify him about the court case and eventually serve him as procedurally required, the loud-mouthed analyst from Kalisizo went native and abused the lady like she was a beggar on the street. “He went as far as threatening to bewitch her if she didn’t stop calling his phone telling him about being sued by Mabirizi,” the very eloquent city lawyer told us in a Saturday interview. Indeed in his subsequent radio and TV programs, Mirundi has vowed to use his Rakai supernatural powers to confuse the judges so that they rule in his favor. “That’s okay and it’s none of my business. I will defeat him because I have assembled a good case against him and I’m above those witchcraft threats of his. I’m comfortable he has since become scared and is careful not to repeat those defamatory allegations against me,” says Mabirizi who Mirundi says has bad manners as seen in his suits against the Kabaka who Mirundi has lately been praising in order to properly scorn Mabirizi. The city lawyer says he is prepared to ensure he uses court to trim and discipline Mirundi like never before. He also advises him to prepare to win the case in court as opposed to breaking on supernatural powers of his nattive place in Rakai. Mabirizi says he suffered reputational loss when Mirundi accused him of being a Sam Kutesa proxy to undermine Speaker Rebecca Kadaga so that the long-serving Mawogola MP (since 1980) becomes the next head of Parliament in 2021. Mabirizi, who has built his reputation by being a public-spirited litigant, says Mirundi’s utterances weren’t only untrue but very defamatory and in effect lowered his reputation before right-thinking members of society. Mirundi, who says he is ready to give Mabirizi (who he previously praised as incorruptible) a bloody nose, has less than 15 days within which to file his defense.
