In a Wednesday live-streamed interview with Mulengera News crew, Senior PLU/NRM cadre Susan Kushaba discredited Kampala Minister Minsa Kabanda’s Kampala Central MP election victory.
Kushaba, a diehard Museveni supporter of many years, added that as a candidate in the same election, she has all the genuine DR forms and they clearly show that NUP’s David Lewis Rubongoya won the race. “He was only cheated in favor of Minsa Kabanda and this was mainly in restricted polling stations in areas like Summit View barracks,” Kushaba said.
“I have been imploring my brother Rubongoya to file a petition because as the one who was declared number two, he stands a higher chance than myself who got roughly 700 votes. He says he is finalizing his petition and I’m ready to depone an affidavit so that I can be one of his witnesses to give evidence against Minsa,” declared Kushaba during a wide-ranging live-streamed interview which was dedicated to addressing social justice issues afflicting Kampala’s urban poor.
Leveraging on her experience as a long serving Owino market vendor, a market she rose to the level of chairing before President Museveni controversially forced her out, Kushaba illustrated the ways in which the ordinary poor had been short-changed.
She predicted total deprivation and alienation for Kampala’s urban poor now that Erias Lukwago, who was always their shield, is no longer the Lord Mayor, a platform he effectively used to amplify their concerns during the last 15 years of his Lord Mayorship.
