Not very long ago, leaflets were thrown around in Masaka proclaiming an imminent resumption of Bijambiya/matchette night operations. The criminals fearlessly indicated they would cause chaos once again like they did mid-2021.
And true to their word, on Monday night the Bijambiya squad members did go on rampage and targeted Kyesiga sub country in Masaka district where ex-VP Edward Ssekandi hails from. They attacked a family and hacked three family members in Majiri village of Kyesiga in Kyanamukaka.
The victims, currently admitted at Kalisizo General Hospital and are in critical condition, include Majiri LC1 Chairman God Mawale Ssenabulya, Kizza and a one Mulyanti. But gratefully, Police already has some suspects in and they are all children of 84-year-old Mzee Joseph Musubiire.
According to Mzee Tomusange Kayinja, a veteran broadcasting journalist reporting for CBS in Masaka, investigators at Kyanamukaka Police Station have already come under pressure by the mighty from Kampala requiring them to back off the case by letting the suspects go so that some cover up can be achieved. This is a developing story. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
