At a recent news conference, Moses Karangwa put his gloves off and declared total war on AG Kiwanuka Kiryowa saying he is the man who led a clique of powerful officials who masterminded the stealing of his CEC votes at Kololo.
Karangwa stood for the position of NRM CEC Vice Chairman for Buganda region but lost to Haruna Kasolo who the EC Chairman Tanga Odoi declared winner, with a margin of roughly 200 votes.
Karangwa says he caught people who stole his votes at Kololo but were all being protected by NRM Tribunal’s Barata and Kiwanuka Kiryowa who was determined to stop him at all costs simply because he says he isn’t a Muganda. Karangwa says he is determined to fearlessly stand up and fight Kiwanuka Kiryowa because “I’m not among those people who fear him very much.”
Karangwa says that as his votes were being stolen in the dead of the night at Kololo, he tried to access the President but all that was frustrated by a clique comprising of KK, Barata and other powerful actors.
He also denied claims that he hates Buganda Kingdom making it clear that he one time gave his Shs25m to the Katikkiro of Buganda to support Kabaka’s development initiatives. He added that he one time hosted the Kabaka at his Bugerere home and even donated to him 22 cows as amakula. Karangwa said each time his Gombolola/Sub County is going for Luwalo at Bulange, he personally contributes not less than Shs20m which he said no one else in Kayunga ever contributes.
“Many times, I don’t attend personally but I always contribute a lot to such Buganda Kingdom causes and Mugerere [Kabaka’s county chief for Bugerere] is my witness. I can’t be hostile to Buganda Kingdom because the Kabaka is for all of us,” Karangwa said making it clear that he is ready for full blown war with his haters who he enumerated to include Tanga Odoi, Barata, Kiwanuka Kiryowa and others-because he doesn’t fear any of them.
He was flanked by a group of diehard supporters including Justine Namere who castigated Deputy NRM Secretary General Rose Namayanja saying she was among those who sabotaged Karangwa by sending out false signals to the effect that Haruna Kasolo is the man the President preferred in his capacity as party national Chairman.
