How NUP’s Bobi Wine Properly ‘Disciplined’ Nandala Mafabi in Eastern Uganda & Other Places Which Used To Be FDC Stronghold Areas During 15th Jan. Polls

By Mulengera Reporters

FDC secretary general Nandala Mafabi had always placed himself as the kingmaker for Bugisu region but the 2026 vote fatally demystified and put him in some terribly bad place.

Voters said BBE and by the time the last vote was counted, Nandala had been rejected even in his own birth place of Sironko where Museveni beat him properly and NRM took all the MP seats.

Museveni’s people won the district woman MP seat and also in Budadiri East and West where big man Nandala had been the area MP for 25 years. For Sironko district, Museveni got 53,549 votes-59.43% as Nandala only managed 27,010 or 29.9%. That was his best district in the whole country. Bobi Wine, who Nandala hates very much, had 8,925 votes or 10% there.

In Obongi district where his right hand man Kaps Fungaroo bounced back as MP, Nandala only got 593 votes or 4%. Even Kyagulanyi beat him with 2,402 votes or 15%.

In Mbale city which is the capital of his native Bugisu, Nandala was rejected by voters and got only 8,567 votes or 12%. Bobi Wine won him there with 25,740 votes or 37%. Museveni overall won Mbale city with 34,814 votes or 50%.

FDCs like Jonathan Ebwalu, Adeke Anna, Moses Attan and others always feared to be with Katonga fearing that Nandala had a lot of support in their homeland of Soroti city and would destroy them in the ballot box by fronting candidates against them.

Yet the results show that Nandala, who was assaulted and stoned by voters in Sironko on voting day and had to be admitted in hospital, only got 3,250 votes in Soroti city. Bobi Wine did much better and got 6,050 votes or 19.13% there. Museveni won with 21,853 votes or 69% of the vote in Soroti city.

In Mbale rural, Nandala was still rejected and only got 21% of the vote as Museveni won with 47,701 votes or 61% and Bobi Wine got 13,125 votes there. Yet Nandala used to think he was very big. His enemies like Winfred Kajeke, Jack Wamanga Wamai and Suleiman Mafabi Lumolo etc have been celebrating to see their tormentor Nandala finally collapsing in the politics of Bugisu.

In Busia where his head of security Amin Sadiki is the town mayor, Nandala was rejected and only got 1,372 votes or 1% as Bobi Wine got 39,460 votes or 33% and Museveni won with 75,826 votes or 64%.

In Kasese Nandala died in his movie even more as his right hand man Robert Centenary was beaten badly in Kasese municipality. All the other FDC incumbents lost badly as NRM reclaimed all MP seats there.

In Lira, where the FDC brand used to be very strong, Nandala only managed 1% of the vote as Museveni got 55,982 votes or 82% and Bobi 8,139 votes or 12%.

In Mpigi where his favorite muganda politician and party deputy president Yusuf Nsibambi was badly defeated for Mawokota south MP seat, Nandala got only 0.20% of the vote or 184 votes. Imagine getting that in a whole district!!!!

Museveni in Mpigi got 42,517 votes as Bobi won there with 50,677 votes or 54%. In Hoima, where Nandala’s assistant Toterebuka Bamwenda comes from, the FDC candidate only got 910 votes or 0.59% as Museveni got 22,715 votes or 66% and Bobi who Nandala used to attack and demean got 10,756 votes or 31%. Why was Nandala being rejected everywhere yet he thinks he is a very intelligent person?

In Dokolo where Besigye and Cecilia Ogwal had made the FDC brand very strong, Nandala got only 2% of the vote as Bobi got 6,725 votes/12% and Museveni 48,991 votes or 82%. This used to be a stronghold area for FDC.

In Buikwe where the FDC man is the LC5 district chairman and their Nakapachu narrowly lost the woman MP race in 2021, Nandala got only 1% of the vote as Bobi won with 71,116 votes or 60% and Museveni followed with 45,513 votes or 38%.

In Bukedea which is in Teso and used to be the FDC stronghold, Nandala only got 0.9% of the vote. Bobi had 3,528 votes and Museveni 109,962 votes or 96%. In Agago which used to be FDC stronghold, Nandala got 1.82% and Bobi 4,885 votes or 8%. The winner there was Museveni with 57,612 votes or 89%.

In Rukiga district which is home to his mentor and FDC national chairman Mzee Jack Sabiiti, Nandala was totally rejected like a leper and he got only 458 votes or 1% of the vote as Museveni won with 36,915 votes or 88% of the vote as Bobi followed with 3,748 votes or 9%.

In Teso it was so bad for the FDC that Nandala’s own PA Jonathan Ebwalu lost badly the Soroti city west MP seat to people’s darling Calvin Echodu. Ebwalu was the incumbent MP there.

In Kumi district where POA Amuriat who used to claim that FDC is very strong in Teso, comes from, Nandala (for whose appeasement Dr. Besigye got molested during Sarah Epelu’s Ngora burial) got only 3% of the vote. Museveni won with 62,838 votes or 84% as Bobi followed with 7,358 votes or 10% of the vote.

Amuriat POA had stood for the MP seat in Kumi’s Kanyum County but was defeated badly. He wasn’t even number four in that race.

Now even if Museveni was to consider making Nandala a minister in his government, the man is now too damaged politically to the extent that it will be too much favour for Museveni to even make him RCC Mbale city.

It’s predictable that many of the struggle diehards who had hang around Nandala in the hope that he will continue having and controlling IPOD money at Najjanankumbi, will now be fleeing and departing him one by one because he is no longer going to have much money to splash on them with a party that has only 9 MPs down from the 32 they have been having.

Nandala’s other man Yusuf Nsibambi was badly defeated in Mawokota south where he has been the incumbent MP and the FDC whip in parliament. Nsibambi was number four. The winner was Susan Nakawuki Nsambu of NRM, followed by Martin Ssejemba of NUP and independent candidate JB Lubyayi.
