[A great tree may fall, but its roots continue to nourish the land], and in that spirit, Equity Bank Uganda took time on Sunday, February 16, 2025, to honor the enduring legacy of Archbishop Janani Luwum, one of Uganda’s most revered spiritual leaders.
Led by Northern Regional Manager Peter Ssemakalu, the Equity Bank team visited the late Archbishop’s family at their ancestral home in Mucwini, Kitgum District.
They were warmly welcomed by his children, including elder son Ben Luwum, daughter Phoebe Luwum, Rev. James Luwum, and other family members.
The visit was not only a moment of remembrance but also a testament to Equity Bank Uganda’s commitment to engaging with and supporting communities that have shaped Uganda’s history.
The late Archbishop Janani Luwum was a beacon of faith, justice, and resilience, and his impact continues to inspire generations.
As a bank that believes in empowering people and preserving heritage, Equity Bank Uganda recognizes the importance of remembering those who paved the way for a better future.
This visit reinforced the values of service, unity, and progress, principles that both the late Archbishop and the bank stand for.
Legacies like his do not fade, but rather, continue to light the path for many. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
