In a powerful stride toward transforming Uganda’s financial landscape, Housing Finance Bank (HFB) has partnered with Pesapal Uganda to enhance digital payment solutions across the country. Just as a river doesn’t drink its own water, HFB is extending its strength to uplift both small businesses and ordinary Ugandans by making payments simpler, faster, and safer.
The partnership, announced this week, is designed to empower Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with modern tools that support seamless and secure financial transactions. By integrating Pesapal’s cutting-edge payment platforms, including point-of-sale (POS) terminals and e-commerce options, HFB is opening doors for businesses to receive payments both online and offline with ease, ultimately reducing the country’s reliance on cash.
Ivan Kituuka, Head of Distribution & Alternate Channels at HFB, highlighted the importance of the move, saying that as the financial sector continues to evolve, the demand for digital solutions grows stronger. “This collaboration is more than just business. It’s a step toward building a smarter, cashless Uganda,” he noted.
HFB will leverage its broad network of branches and its loyal customer base to help businesses adopt Pesapal’s technology. The move is expected to improve access to digital services, strengthen merchant engagement, and support Uganda’s ongoing push toward digital inclusion.
