Here’s How Minister Kasolo’s Political Rivals Have Weaponized Singer Princess Amirah to Trivialize him While destroying his Reputation

By Mulengera Reporters

Unknown to a lot of people on especially social media, Minister Haruna Kasolo lost interest in singer Princess Amirah (aka Kihumuro Mbabazi) long time ago. And it’s more than 8 months since the two consenting adults last got down to doing something together.

Knowledgeable insiders within the ongoing “Buganda for Museveni” movement have revealed that Haruna Kasolo, who is renowned for being a very calculative politician, became indifferent and lost appetite in Princess Amirah when she proved unsophisticated and insisted on making public what was supposed to strictly be a private affair.

As a musician, the freeloading Amirah calculated that she would leverage on the prestige that comes with being a Minister’s mistress to keep attracting media publicity. That way she would be able to keep postponing the inevitable oblivion into which singing celebrities sink once they take long without releasing a hit song. That was never Haruna Kasolo’s idea.

Well aware that being linked to a singing celebrity would bring him discomforting scrutiny and publicity, which sometimes can be very scandalous, the incoming Kyotera County MP preferred something very secretive. When Amirah, with whom they have a three-year-old child, insisted on publicizing and putting things on display, Kasolo became remorseful and began plotting his exit.

Fellow senior cadres he closely works with inside NRM say that Haruna Kasolo gradually disengaged, a thing which made Amirah to feel deflated and frustrated. It’s the reason she resorted to making frequent social media posts trying to exaggerate her closeness to him. She thought that would blackmail Haruna Kasolo into remaining attached to her-fearing escalation. In case of media war between the two, Amirah is convinced it’s Haruna Kasolo who would lose because it’s him with big-name-recognition. In fact, being a celebrity, such chaos works for Amirah, a thing Haruna Kasolo was long well advised about by his social media handlers.

Sources say this is the reason he preferred silence instead of confronting Amirah while demanding that she stops making complementary social media posts about him. Whereas her calculation was that posting about him frequently, while bragging about being his spouse, would incentivize Kasolo into taking her on as his 4th wife, the result was the exact opposite to what the singing slay queen wanted. The more she posted him on social media, the more Haruna Kasolo became uncomfortable and disinterested.

He became even more uncomfortable a few months ago when a media campaign was originated resulting into Bukedde carrying a front page newspaper story which scandalized Kasolo like never before. The story was that Amirah and another woman had fought for him during a public function. Instead of winning for Amirah, the Bukedde newspaper story made Haruna Kasolo even more remorseful about why he ever met her.

The thing is that whereas such publicity is good for a young singing celebrity who doesn’t have much to lose, it scandalizes the Haruna Kasolo brand as a Minister and senior politician. Being a man for whom women fight equally trivializes Kasolo and causes key decision-makers in the government of Uganda to begin perceiving him as unserious and unfit for the office of CEC where he wants to sit.

Having developed irreconcilable differences, the Minister from Kyotera began sending out clear signals to signal to those who cared to know that it was over between him and Amirah. He began making it clear to his close confidants that he strictly has three residences namely Buwate, Bujuko and Kyotera. These are the three places where his officially known spouses live. He is a Muslim who is allowed to take on up to four wives. Amirah had calculated to become wife number four but from what we know, that will never be. She is merely flogging a dead horse as the Minister’s heart lies somewhere else, and not with her anymore.

Having written her off, after being found wanting and incapable of any value-addition, Kasolo went as far as withdrawing the Maya house he had secured for her occupation earlier on. It had been her abode but not anymore. He made it clear to close friends that he had more productive things on which to expend his energy and effort.

The Maya house was for a friend who the Minister encouraged to get back his house. Amirah was kicked out like a plague and had to find somewhere else, much less glamorous, to live as she raises the couple’s child. Even the material support coming from Kasolo diminished long time ago and the little that still comes is for the sustenance of the child.

BECOMES A PROJECT:

Feeling increasingly unwanted and disregarded, Amirah did confide in a few people who she thought had leverage to ask Kasolo to give her second chance and when that didn’t yield, she became more frustrated. When Haruna Kasolo plunged into the CEC race seeking to become NRM Chairman for Buganda region, some of his political adversaries got alarmed and plotted to manipulatively use Amirah to trivialize and distort his campaign messaging.

Some people, pretending to be his allies, wanted Amirah to be singing at his every CEC campaigning event, something the Minister politely declined. Kasolo made it clear he wouldn’t be comfortable sharing a dancing platform with her anywhere at his CEC campaigning events. His argument was that he intended to use such campaigning events to pass on a coherent message (about how SACCOs can be leveraged to amplify PDM, the need to emulate him as a model coffee farmer to boost house hold incomes & the need for cadres to be united behind Gen YK Museveni’s leadership etc), which he rightly feared would be overshadowed by Amirah’s celebrity presence and appearance at his political meetings.

Once they knew he was fearful this would hurt his political brand and messaging as he seeks the CEC position, Haruna Kasolo’s rivals sought to take advantage of the ongoing “Buganda for Museveni” rallies to create some proximity between Kasolo and Amirah (he loathes the resultant optics). They knew the extent to which her mere presence at such rallies would torment and disrupt him emotionally. The event organizers at such rallies were manipulated to make sure Amirah conspicuously features at every ‘Buganda for Museveni’ event-and is portrayed to be the slay queen in Haruna Kasolo’s life.

The calculation of such organizers remains twofold namely emotionally disorganizing Kasolo at such rallies so that he fails to deliver an eloquent message (as a CEC aspirant) or where he delivers eloquently, his message gets eclipsed and crowded out by seductive Amirah’s stage-managed presence (the same also risks antagonizing Kasolo with his other more productive wives). This was the calculation at Buyamba County MP Gyavira Semwanga-organized “Buganda for Museveni” rally in Kooki over the weekend where Amirah was smuggled in and made to be photographed performing and behaving seductively towards a clearly disinterested Haruna Kasolo.

Sources close to organizers say that Kasolo has repeatedly made it clear that he isn’t comfortable having Princess Amirah being included on the list of musicians to perform at the “Buganda for Museveni” rallies where he is in attendance. He has made it clear that discomforts him a lot but for unknown reasons, some of the organizers, from especially the events side, have remained adamant and provocatively continued to bring her around.

Sources say that Kasolo is now fearful that someone is selfishly using Amirah to disorganize and trivialize him while crowding out his otherwise very serious political messaging on how NRM can be revitalized in especially Buganda region. But thick-skinned as always, Kasolo is determined to stick to his broader political objectives namely revitalizing NRM and winning the CEC race where he faces tycoon Moses Karangwa, Godfrey Kiwanda, Hakim Kyeswa and others.
