In the mid 1980’s, Mr Bidandi Ssali who was the manager of KCC FC scouted the late Uganda’s legendary net buster, Majid Musisi and took him at Lugogo to play for the Kasaasiro Boys.
A young and naturally arrogant Sam Ssimbwa quickly issued a red card to Majid Musisi whom Bidandi Ssali had poached from Pepsi FC.
Sam Ssimbwa told Bidandi there was no way he was ever going to play with Majid Musisi since he was purportedly best suited to play wrestling.
Now, Sam Ssimbwa was a very talented player whom every KCC official and club supporters worshipped like a semi god.
So, therefore, when he rejected to play with Majid Musisi, Bidandi Ssali coiled his tail back in his tail and kowtowed to Sam Ssimbwa for the sake of the spoilt player’s comfort and peace.
Majid Musisi did not forgive the treatment Bidandi Ssali and his spoilt player subjected him to and punished them through scoring goals after goals against their club including the legendary five he put behind Sadiq Wassa during a memorable march played in Masaka.
After terrorizing KCC FC and their beloved player, Sam Ssimbwa, Majid Musisi’s scoring prowess was ably detected by the Rennes FC in France who bought him for the then record fee of a billion shilling ever paid fo in exchange for services of a Ugandan player.
A Turkish club Majid Musisi played for has since erected a football pitch resembling a crocodile which was how the deceased celebrated after netting goals in honor of their former player.
That was how Sam Ssimbwa recklessly caused KCC to miss gold. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
