Uganda has officially secured the bid to host the 66th International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Associations (IFATCA) Conference in 2027.
The announcement was made on Friday, May 2, 2025, during the closing ceremony of the 64th IFATCA Conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, a five-day event which brought together delegates from across the globe to discuss matters concerning air traffic management and aviation safety.
Uganda’s bid, led by the Uganda Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (UGATCA), was well received by the international delegation, with the presentation being noted for its clarity, focus, and commitment to advancing the goals of IFATCA.
Helena Sjostrom Falk, President and CEO of IFATCA, congratulated the Ugandan team for their successful bid. She was joined by the federation’s Deputy President, Jean-Francois Lepage, for a group photo with the delegation.
The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has welcomed the development, noting that hosting the 2027 conference will bring opportunities for knowledge exchange, visibility, and professional collaboration in the field of air traffic control.
