Rose Nassanga, who has been the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the FDC party headquarters at Najjanankumbi is dead. She died a while ago at Mengo hospital where she was admitted over the weekend in very critical condition. She was at the last minute on Saturday diagnosed with cancer of the blood aka Leukemia, a very deadly incurable condition to which founding Tanzanian President Julius Nyerere succumbed in 1999. “Its very frightening the report has just come out and it shows she has leukemia and it had already spread through her systems and her chances of surviving are very minimal,” a top party official told this news website on Saturday. “The situation is really bad and the relatives are all scared and the doctors have asked everybody to keep away from her as they try their best.” Nassanga was recruited by Gen Muntu and Alice Alaso the then Secretary General to replace elderly Wycliffe Bakandonda who retired. Nassanga is the 2nd FDC CAO to die of natural causes the other being Louis Otika, the founding CAO since the days of Reform Agenda. As CAO, she has lately been having a bad time at office after some of her supervisors sidelined her in favor of deputy CAO Pauline. Her salary had at some point been arbitrarily reduced from Shs4.5m to just Shs2.5m. All this, family sources say, caused her stress to the point of pondering resignation. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
