Since losing his MP Seat, the ex-Budiope East Legislator Geoffrey Dhamuzungu had taken up temporary short term employment at the Parliament of Uganda. He would keep getting quarterly employment contract renewals from time to time.
But as of now, Dhamuzungu doesn’t have any running employment contract with the Uganda Parliamentary Commission and it’s unclear why his gig couldn’t be extended for even one more time.
On losing the temporary employment, Dhamuzungu (who famously fathered a child with singer Phina Mugerwa aka Masanyalaze) consoled himself by concentrating on his car washing bay business which is premised and situated near Parliament. He anticipated a high level endorsement so that all Parliament’s car washing needs would be handled by him in return for lucrative monthly remuneration.
This didn’t materialize and Dhamuzungu ended up being unable to harvest the hundreds of millions of shillings he had anticipated. This condemned him to financial deprivation, which he now wants to mitigate by reclaiming his Budiope East MP Seat in Buyende district.
But unfortunately for Dhamuzungu, that same seat is currently being held by moneybags Eng Moses Magogo, who is also the Fufa President and husband to Speaker Nalongo Annet Anita Among. It’s unlikely that Magogo, who is expected to benefit from the clout that comes with his better half being number 3 in the country, will be losing his seat and getting himself rejected by the voters only after just one term of just five years.
Sources close to him say that Eng Moses Magogo, for whom Among will be having plenty of time as she will most likely be bouncing back unopposed for 3rd term in 2026, has refused to lose any ounce of his sleep over the negligible challenge Dhamuzungu is likely to pose to him both within inside the NRM primaries and in general elections. Watch out for more intriguing updates on other Busoga races to watch as Ugandans count down to 2026.
