Equity Bank Uganda has announced that all its physical branches will be closed from 18th to 21st April 2025 in observance of the Easter holidays. The announcement, made through a public notice on X (formerly Twitter) is part of the bank’s commitment to keeping its clients informed while promoting uninterrupted service delivery through its digital and alternative channels.
Despite the temporary closure of branches, the Bank has assured its customers that they will still have access to their bank accounts and services through various self-service and digital platforms, which include ATMs, Equi-Duuka agents, the *247# USSD code, the Equity Mobile App, and Equity Online internet banking. These channels remain active and available to serve customers at any time throughout the Easter period.
The bank’s digital infrastructure has been designed to provide a seamless experience, even outside of traditional banking hours. With the Equity Mobile App and internet banking, customers can make transactions, pay bills, transfer funds, and check balances from anywhere.
The Equi-Duuka network of agents also ensures that banking services are accessible at the community level, while the USSD code offers mobile access even without an internet connection.
Equity Bank Uganda emphasized that these alternative channels are part of its broader strategy to empower customers with flexible banking options and enhance financial inclusion across the country.
In light of the Easter celebrations, the bank has encouraged customers to plan ahead and make use of these available tools to manage their financial needs.
The Bank remains dedicated to serving its clients, because it understands the importance of Easter as a time of spiritual reflection and family gatherings. While branches will observe the holiday, the bank’s digital and agent-based services will ensure that customers are not inconvenienced.
The Bank also took the opportunity to wish its customers a peaceful and joyful Easter celebration, extending its gratitude for the continued trust and loyalty of its clients, and reaffirming its commitment to delivering convenient and reliable financial services.
Customers who require assistance during the holiday period can still reach out through the bank’s customer service lines or access help via online platforms.
