Prominent Women empowerment advocate Dr Aisha Ruth Kasolo has called on successful Ugandans to deliberately support the people around them, emphasizing that shared prosperity strengthens communities and promotes national growth.
Dr Kasolo highlighted that personal success should not be enjoyed in isolation. She stressed the importance of helping friends, relatives, employees, and community members who have been part of one’s journey, noting that lifting others creates a healthier and more stable environment for all.
She criticized individuals who deliberately isolate themselves economically, pointing out a growing tendency among some people to remain the only wealthy members of their communities while others around them struggle. Dr Kasolo warned that such greed can lead to resentment and harmful outcomes.
According to her perspective, sharing resources, creating opportunities, and developing the skills of those around oneself not only benefits others but also strengthens personal security and societal cohesion.
Dr Kasolo believes that if more Ugandans embraced a culture of collective growth rather than individual accumulation, the country’s social and economic potential would be greatly enhanced. She sees empowerment as a process of lifting those around oneself, ensuring that everyone benefits from shared success.
Her message has sparked widespread discussion. Supporters describe it as a timely call for responsibility and generosity, while critics question whether individuals should be obligated to share their wealth. Regardless of differing opinions, Dr Aisha Ruth Kasolo has succeeded in reigniting conversations about leadership, social responsibility, and community development in Uganda.
