Excitement is building up in Kamuli District as preparations for the Namasagali Youth Rally enter the final stretch. The event, which is scheduled for 6th June 2025 will be held at Namasagali Primary School, and is expected to bring together youth from across Busoga and beyond.
The rally is being organised by Samuel Nabeeta, a key youth leader in the region, and is supported by both the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) and the National Resistance Movement (NRM), under the theme: “Breaking Barriers, Building Prosperity,” focusing on creating opportunities and hope for young people in Uganda.
According to the organizers, the rally aims to inspire the youth to actively participate in development programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM) and the Emyooga Fund, saying this is their time, and they want the youth to understand these programs and benefit from them.
The event will be graced by top national leaders, including Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, Uganda’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Kamuli Woman MP, who will be the Guest of Honor, and Hon. Balaam Barugahara, Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs and Vice Chairman of PLU, will be the Chief Guest.
Nabeeta and his team have promised an exciting day that will not only focus on education and empowerment but also celebrate Busoga culture. Big names in Uganda’s entertainment industry, including Gravity Omutujju and Lord Fred Sebatta, will be performing live.
“This rally is for every young person who believes in a better tomorrow,” said Juma Mpendo Akiki, the PLU coordinator, Busoga region, who’s also part of the organising team. He encouraged youth to turn up in big numbers, saying this is not just an event, but a movement for change.
The rally is being sponsored by UBC and Royal Milk, and is backed by the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development.
As the countdown begins, “Come one, come all. Let’s shape our future together,” remains the message from the organizers. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
