Ex-Security Minister Henry Tumukunde has offered to lead a group of elders from Rukungiri to reach out and engage President Museveni as to why their son Dr. Kizza Besigye continues to be persecutted inside Luzira Prison amidst deteriorating health.
Now an old man enjoying his retirement, Gen Tumukunde says that confrontation, similar to what Rukungiri residents engaged in during the burial of a big-name business lady in their town over the weekend, won’t help.
He has proposed engagement so that the Retired Colonel is permitted to urgently go get the appropriate medication before it gets too late.
In a related development, young people in Bushenyi affiliated to PFF, to which Dr. Besigye subscribes too, have this Monday morning taken to the streets of their home town to peacefully demonstrate while demanding that Dr. Besigye’s freedom to access appropriate medication gets respected by the regime or government in power.
