KINYRA SUGAR SUPPORTS BUNYORO KINGDOM

There is joy among the subjects of Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom who have expressed their great appreciations for Kinyara Sugar Limited’s great contributions towards the Kingdom. Early this week, Kinyara Sugar Ltd donated a number of items and office equipment as contribution towards refurbishing of Orukurato rwa Bunyoro (the Kingdom Parliament).  The equipment worth Shs8m was handed over to the Omuhikirwa of Bunyoro (the Kingdom Prime Minister) Rt. Hon. Andrew Byakutaga by the General Manager Kinyara Sugar Ltd Mr. Ravi Ramalingam at the Kingdom Parliament. The donated office equipment included a modern and luxurious furniture and computer sets that will give a new face to the Kingdom offices. While handing over the equipment, the General manager Kinyara Sugar Ltd, Ravi Ramalingam, emphasized that Kinyara being a community focused organization with a robust outreach program aims to cultural promotion and development since it is the only solid foundation for unity among the African communities. “As a community focus organization we look forward in promotion and development of culture given the fact that it is a fundamental aspect in formation of a solid foundation for unity and togetherness in any community. ‘’ Said Ravi R. the General Manager of Kinyara Sugar Ltd in an interview after the event.

Ravi added that he appreciates Bunyoro Kingdom’s effort to preserve its rich heritage glory from both cultural and historical perspective referring to Bunyoro Rukurato building he said is monumental. He added that: “It is a great honor for Kinyara Sugar Ltd to be part of the team that is fostering an enhanced new look of the Orukurato Rwa Bunyoro-Kitara.” The Bunyoro Kingdom Prime Minister, Rt. Hon Andrew Byakutaga, who received the equipment in presence of other kingdom officials, expressed gratitude for the support accorded by Kinyara Sugar and said it shows that the Kingdom’s development efforts are being appreciated. He added that the Kingdom has a solid comprehensive plan to gradually revive all the assets of the Kingdom as a tool to not only symbolize existence of the Kingdom but also to continuously promote the Bunyoro-Kitara culture. Mathias Wanok, the Kinyara Sugar Ltd Communications manager, said that Kinyara Sugar Ltd shall continuously purpose to enable the community to be at its exceptional best through initiatives such as these and urge other stakeholders to join the cause. He noted that: ‘’Cultural symbols are held dearly by members of a given community as a physical manifestation that shows the ideology of their culture and therefore, as Kinyara Sugar Ltd, we shall continuously purpose to enable the community be at its exceptional best through initiatives such as these and urge other stakeholders to join this cause.’’ The history of the parliamentary building, Orukurato Rwa Bunyoro, stems as far as 1967 a year in which it was commission by the then Omukama of Bunyoro-Kitara Sir Tito G.
